MAKING OF

The whole project started with a concept for an illustrated and animated typ-face. While working on the storyline the project was developing into three chapters.
Nature was the main topic for the FIRST chapter. Therefore, I choosed the technique of photogrammetry as a starting point. After I spend some time in the forest and collected a lot of photos of tree trunks, I then used the software Meshroom to create 3D models.
Next to 3D scanning I used Side FX Houdini to generate some processual tree models.

In the SECOND chapter we are experiencing a darkish, futuristic, urban environment, where coffee still plays a big role.
To generate urban custom textures, I used Photoshop and Quixel Mixer. The blockout was modeled and rendered in Houdini with the help of Redshift3D.
Within the THIRD chapter we are leaveing earth and we will have a look to an increasingly contamination of earth`s orbit.
Here, I also left my own comfort zone and I choosed Unreal Engine to compose, build and render the whole chapter. To speed things up I was using the 3D "Zero Gravity" assets from the Unreal marktplace and "TurboSquid" as well as some more assets from the Megascans Library.
For the sound design I used Adobe Audition. And last but not least, the whole compositing was done in Adobe After Effects.
